No, but you can 4.8 crank/rods/pistons in an aluminum 5.3 block for no reason.

Wasn't the 4.8 problematic in some way? There is an independent auto dealer not far away that mentioned he won't bid on 4.8 powered trucks or SUVs at the auction because of some kind of issues with them.

I had a Sierra with a 4.8, and that thing was awesome! 20mpg highway at 70mph and towed my race car on a heavy open trailer just fine!

i've had back to back 300hp 5.3 and 4.8 in the same vehicle(pulled one, put in other) and it was noticeably slower with the 4.8 afterward. it's more top end. awesome for something light, but i prefer the 5.3 in anything with heft.
