Three pedals, but still a six cylinder.

That could be sweet. I'd resto-mod it. Original looking body and interior, EFI 300 I6 with a five speed MT (if it wasn't already a stick, 4spd AT would be fine too). Disk brakes, modern shocks and widened steelies with dog dish center caps.

It wouldn't be fast, but would it would drive nice and still be able to do some real truck work.

That said, I've never seen an 8ft flareside Ford truck bed. Interesting.

They didn't make many. Not too many Grandpas with that kind of flair. Because, really, what are you hauling that you think "I need that 8' length, but only 4' wide will be fine."

I disagree. In a flare side truck you just barely get a sheet to lay down flat. There's not enough room to get your hands around the edges to easily load/unload it.

Lots of those long bed step sides around, they are not as pretty as the short beds. The city and county trucks around here were stepsides....

Stepside used to be the fleet/poor man's choice, in the day before stepsides were "cool".

For '67, an F100 long bed stepside had an MSRP of $2198 vs. the flareside at $2237. Minimum wage was $1.40, gas was $0.30/gallon.

The $39 price difference meant something, especially if you were buying in fleet quantities.
