One of the last things left at my great-uncle's farm is this old RV. I don't know much about it, but here's what I know:

First of all, it's FREE. You come take it away, it's yours.

1. Title in hand, free and clear

2. It was driven to the farm by my uncle in 1984, parked, and left there. He wanted it to store old golf clubs (don't ask) and had no intention of camping in it. So it wasn't parked due to a blown engine or anything. It was just parked and sat there for 33 years.

3. At very least, it can roll. It was pulled out about 100 feet from where these pictures are taken....so at very least the wheels/brakes aren't seized.

4. There is a complete drivetrain in it. I don't know what it is, but it's there.

5. As far as I know, all the mechanical stuff is there. Whether it works or can be made to work, no idea. But it's all been sitting under a big box for 33 years, not in the weather...so perhaps there's hope.

6. Interior looks ....well, some of it is there. Basically all the seats are there, and not much else. And it's really, really dirty.  And part of the ceiling paneling apparently fell down.

7. All of the glass is there, but I think 1 or 2 of the panes have cracks or are broken. The rear glass actually flips up to open. Looks lke all the glass is "flat" so may not be too hard to replace individual pieces.

So, that's about what I know.

What else I know:

1. It's FREEEEEEEE if you come take it away. Getting it out of there on a big trailer would be a bit of an adventure (the driveway turns out onto a fairly narrow country road and not a ton of space. But they've had big dumpster trucks getting in there, and got a 30-foot trailer out of there, so....it can be done.

2. It's locaed in Clifton, Va. - which is just south of Washington DC.

3. It needs to be gone soon.

4. Contact me for information. Don't go through GRM, just email me directly. My username here @yahoo.com

Pictures. I can't get more pictures at the moment, but I can eventually. Or put you in touch with my aunt to arrange to go see it or just go get it.

I will note again - if you have another question about it, I probably cannot answer it. I've never really poked around inside it other than to take those pics above. My great-aunt, who is trying to get rid of it, probably doen'st know much about it either. So this is basically a "what you see is what you get."

My great-uncle is still around, and he probably knows a billion things about it, but they will all go something like "it has brand-new tires on it, as well as brand-new brakes!" but it's fairly unlikely you'll deal with him since he is not at the property and probably won't be.

Looks like it is a 440 Chrysler.  Corrosion under the doghouse looks pretty heavy.

Well, it's a Chrysler engine.  Not sure of size but the ignition box has the pentastar on it

quick googling indicates that it is a 1972-3 Dodge Superior 2000 or 2200 (20' or 22')

If it's a '72 it likely has a Chrysler 413 in it. If it's a '73 it should have a 440.

A quick look at the water pump will tell you if it is the 413 or 440.

In reply to Cooter :

That would involve me driving over there and looking. The extent of my assistanc in getting this thing out of there is basically this thread, lol.

On one hand...I'm actually very much in need of an RV again.

On the other hand I suspect slamming my junk in a door would be less painful than the wrath my wife would bring upon me for choosing *that* RV ;)  Very cool old thing but very much a project I don't have time for sadly.
