I can find Iron 5.3's or 4.8's for $400, but not the Aluminum LS1 for that little money.
agreed it's hard to find the aluminum block motors under $1500.
Yes. Please power an air-raid siren, blender, water pump or other cool thing with it. Cars with V8s are SO over.
