How much is the engine alone worth?
No photos of the motor in question. I just sold a storage unit find 1976 truck forged crank 440 and 727 for $500 that was complete and spun freely. If the engine is a cast crank engine? $5-700, maybe? Forged crank? $750? Magnum motor? Possibly almost the asking price.
That said, the most common "440" found in these is something swapped in from another car. Usually a cast crank 440 from a later New Yorker, or even a 400 from a Newport. I've even seen 360s called 440s. Get a good photo of the area at the front of the intake manifold by the drivers side head, and we can talk.
71 and 2's are not collector cars, 440's are Very common, that is all it's worth, but that car needs 20 thou. to be Nice, I work for a Chrysler restorer and he won't even Look at One. so say Bye Bye.
In reply to GTXVette:
It must be an age thing, because I prefer this body style way more than previous ones.
I love a 63 through 67 car not much prettier than a 65 Coronet, really love a 66 Charger and 67 GTX. But the boss won't even look at them.
I like this body style Charger along with the Roadrunner Satellite etc early 70's
Kenny Wayne Shepherd has or had a very nice 72, I believe it was stolen but was possibly recovered.
