Someone should buy that instantly. A manual 850 for $2k is definitely going to make someone some money assuming it's not a scam...
Let's pretend it's real. I'd be shocked if it is but sure, whatever, let's play.
How hard would it be to get working interior bits like air con and electric windows and such going if the engine was swapped for something entirely different? I'm thinking Mopar 5.9 Magnum with an intake and cam swap backed by an O/D A-833 because a long legged car + classic four on the floor just seems right. Added bonus is selling off the engine bits you don't need to basically pay for the entire project.
This one is more the price I would expect... http://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/5933840359.html

My thoughts exactly.
Why must scammers tease with such cars that I have always wanted??
The price looks good on that one for the apparent condition. I've never seen a manual trans 850 in this country and now there are photo's of two in one day. Even if the first is a scam, this must represent a pretty decent % of all manual 850's sold in the US.
Funny aside, back with the old old top gear, the 8 series BMW was launched at about the same time as the Vauxhall Calibra in 1989. Clarkson took both cars when new and covered the badges up with tape and took them out in public and asked people to guess what they thought the price was for them both. On average the public picked way way over the Calibra and way way under on the 8 series. I'll have to see if the clip is hiding out on the You-of-Tubes somewhere.
I love the 850 on an M1 level. Please proceed as my bottom and wallet are still hurting from my last BMW experiment.
