I don't think it would fit without splitting the car in half and adding 6" to the middle front-to-rear. A Briggs/etc. V-twin lawnmower engine would be a tight fit in one of these.

Nonsense, I see a nice big rear seat area to cut out!  A VMax engine is fairly compact front-to-rear and has a shaft drive...

Wheelbase is too short. Minimum wheelbase for Lemons is 82" "as delivered by the factory." Subaru 360 wheelbase is 71". That is TINY.

Suzuki 1200 et al would do nicely, just pay attention to how you park.   Wait, it's light enough to push back with your foot.
