I have seen how you can weld up a steel version, Also if you use CV joints, apparently you can move the diff forward and use the Subie rear case with brackets for the Spitfire.
I will start a build page later today so you can track my progress and answer any questions.
Yes, my plan would be to go with CV axles. I can't imagine going through all of the effort to do this conversion only to keep with the weak Spitfire u-joints.
I am headed for the hard path of narrowing MX5 stuff for mine, but I need to get a Sprite running first...
