I'm not sure what to say about this thing. The sidemounts are interesting.
Cadillac never made those. It was a company that specialized in customizing that modified Seville's into that monstrosity. Learned that from one that is local, owner had it in a car show and explained it. His even had the modifier's tag in the engine compartment.
I wonder what they did with all the extra space under the hood, you could probably get the engine completely behind the front tires.

FTFY
I'm pretty sure they were similar to mid 70s Novas so there are parts out there to make them go and turn.
I always liked the first gen Sevilles! Saw one in a magazine in the 80's that had basically gone about half way to a Nascar stock car as an open road high speed racer for the copper state races, etc. That was super cool, this, not so much!
Don't tell my friends, but I've always liked those. They are even kind of collectible. And the the first generation opera coupes are much cooler looking than those based on the truly awful second generation Sevilles.
I like the short wheelbase, but I just don't get the whole side mount thing.
This is kind of neat:

I don't think I've seen one of those in black before. Not a bad starting point. A wheel swap alone (I'm thinking Convo-Pro's) would make that car more visually appealing. And start painting or removing trim, there's a lot of shiny nonsense on that thing.

Pretty sure that particular car was a C&D project in '77 or so. They took the impact bars out from behind the bumpers, swapped in an F-body steering spool, and added much larger sway bars. There was more but I can't remember it all. The car was meant to challenge the 450SE's performance. In the early 90's I tried to track down the shop that fabbed the sway bars but couldn't find a business listing. We had a total of 3 of the 1st-gen Sevilles when I was growing up and I always wanted to duplicate the CD build, but with more power.
