Emboldened by the near dismal failure of my fender flares prohect, and our pending DFL finish at the challenge, im planning to try something truly ambitious. A miata fastback hardtop.
To start with. I need some sort of top.
Have a hardtop that was in a rollover? I can use it.
Softtop frame with the bows cut out? Sure!
I dont need anything good. I need junk thats destined to be scrap. Just enough to base my forms off of. I only have 1 top between the daily and the project, and dont want to fubar the daily top.
I can pick up at or near the challenge, or around north carolina/south carolina/southern Virginia/etc.
What have you?
I'll be parting out my (used to be) daily miata after the challenge and after I put its engine into my roller miata. You can have the soft top frame if you want, though I can't guarantee that it's not tweaked from straight.
Thanks for the offer! It'll be until after the snow and salt are off the roads up in Pennsylvania before I'd be able to make it up there to get it though. The way I'm reading your post you're not starting to cut it until well after the challenge like a winter project.

Yeah, hopefully within a month of being back from the challenge I hope to have my other miata up to daily duties, and within a month after that have anything useful stripped from the miata in question. It may happen faster as I don't think I'll be keeping anything suspension-wise as I am fairly confident that it is all shot.
But yeah, if you want it, I'll keep it around for you. It won't take up too much space in parts storage.
Stampie has one coming to the challenge for me.
Thanks though!

Cool deal. If you end up needing another, let me know.
Will do. Definitely interested in seeing hoe this ends up.
Late to the party, but if stampie falls through, or just doesn't want to drag it to the challenge. I have a soft top frame 10 minutes from the challenge hotel I can get to you. (3 soft top frames hanging in dads shop) Let me know early as I'm only planning on being up there Friday.

More is always better. How much? Might be useful to have a spare if I screw up the first one
dang... didn't realize you wanted to pay for it.
Call it cleaning out my dad's shop.
That is the absolute right price for me. I really don't want to pay for one. But will if I have to.
Miata parts are like rabbits, you throw a few into a shed, and the next time you go out there they've started to multiply. That said... I think I have 4 or 5 of them now. I've lost count.
If you have other free miata stuff, i wont complain....
2000 nb with gm v6 is the plan.
I've only had NA cars. So the top is an easy thing. I'll look around.
