I didn't think trikes could compete as anything but exhibition? There was a Corvair-engined trike I found a year or two ago that I thought would be fun but from how I read the rules got the impression vehicles were strictly limited to 4 wheels...

Strap another wheel to the roof and then it has 4 wheels attached?

My understanding was that the rule was in place to prevent things falling over, so that may work... but that would be a question for the Challenge Supreme Court thread ultimately...
I used to see a purple one comfortably doing 75MPH on I-540. The guy wasn't afraid to corner hard in it, either.
