easy right? i have c2 turbo/cup1/whatever other name you want to call them replica wheels. i want some 15x8 or 16x8 deep dish wheels that will stick out 2-3" from where the current wheels are. fitment is whatever bolt pattern a 944 is. i really want some basket weave or mesh wheels, challenge budget dictates i have to trade or be able to get new wheels for about what the old ones cost.

Looking like this market is slim, and i may have to just sell the wheels I have and redrill my hubs and get cheap 5x4.5 wheels.

Yeah, Porsche wheels are stupid expensive. Early offset (which are what you're looking for it sounds like) are even harder to find as they weren't used by a lot of models.

That said, I have 5x130 to 5x120 adapters on my early offset 924/944 that I'm not going to need anymore.

I have a couple of sets of BMW wheels as well, but they are 17 and 19" so probably not helpful for you. The adapters should be useful to fit 5x120 or 5x4.25" wheels.

Hit me up if you're interested.

If you can get yourself a set of 5x130 to 5x120 adapters from Stefan, you can have these for $100. They're not exactly deep dish, but they are really cheap for a nice looking set of BMW wheels.

You could get a set of damaged, cheap fuchs and have them built up to your specs. In all honesty, not too many people run old fuchs. They are getting too tired for track duty.

Hey pat...I have a set of 15" enkei one piece basket weave but they're only 7" wide. Very light. In good shape except gold center paint is faded. They're Et 10 so they are offset to stick out on a 944 old style. Stock old 944 offset was et23. For you very very challenge budget friendly

What year is your 944? Different offsets for early vs old 944s.. .

FYI bolt pattern on 944s is 5 x 130. Essentially unique to P cars....they are a few vw and audis that use that pattern but not much of anything else.

AFAIK the wheels I have are forged bareels with cast centers welded on believe it or not.

adam i'll send you a picture of what i've got later. not sure i'm hot on the ones you have.

here's the deal. it's not a 944. it's a (car) that has 944 front suspension and a vw rear transaxle that has been converted to 944 hubs/brakes. it has these guys on it in a 17" staggered matched set

Pat... the Porsche 5 by 130 wheel bolt pattern is a unicorn. For both both wheels and the adapters. I have chased Wheel Solutions over the years and decent wheels are prohibitively expensive. Given the limited demand and the pricey factory wheels period for example a set of 15 or 16 by 8 inch Factory forged alloys in decent shape usually run about $500 each. I've seen 9 inch go for as much as $1,000 each. Not a set. Each. Many people take 16 by 6 Fuchs forged alloys and have the center's welded up n wider barrels by Lindsey racing. But that is a $2,500 option for a set of 4. I think your best bet it's going to be redrilling the hubs as adapters are also expensive and rare.

Other than the ones you already have only aftermarket is 4 Fuchs replicas at about $700 a set or Fox replicas in 17 inch at about $1,200 a set. Occasionally you will see three piece BBS wheels come up for sale but if they're not junk they still come in upwards of 1500 to $2,000 a set

In 911 circles it's known as the Porsche tax.

Isn't "that car" built with early suspension on one end and late on the other? The Momos aren't for everyone lol.

Nope, for fitment purposes its all 84 944 for the wheels and tires. Which means little for fitment when the suspension isn't in a 944 anymore.

Thanks. I'm in collect parts mode right now while i try and get motivated to do the bodywork on the chevelle. I refuse to sand inside the garage, so summer should hurry up. Mechanicals come after body in this case because i know everything is good to go, and do not want overspray on my powdercoated suspension bits.

I found 1.25" 5x130 to 5x4.5 wheel adapters so i could run any ford rim under the sun, or some mesh wheels made for a ford/sti/mopar/everythingelsenotnamedgmorporsche

2 schools of thought were: f this rear engine stuff i want a v8, and: f that complete reconstruction this thing was a runner in this configuration i can put a different rack in and accomplish my goals (fun, quickish, insane looks) with the subie stuff and it's already here.
