Hey all, my nephew's transmission went for a self machining adventure on his mg midget. Anyone have one laying around? He's in Pittsburgh, Pa, but will consider most anyplace. His car is a 1972 and has the 1275 engine. Doesn't have to be perfect, but hopefully won't be quite as bad as his! 
Let me know whats kicking around under your workbench or shed.

spitfirebill, he would love to do a Datsun 5 spd swap. We have researched it and its just not in the budget. I told him it would be worth it, especially for how much he drives this little thing...

The 5 speed swap is terrific, but donor trans are getting hard to find. The conversion kit is around $600 from Rivergate or Gerard, but a Datsun 210 (notB210) trans is now $800 to $1000... if you find one, GRAB IT plus the shifter and front driveshaft yoke.!
My current status is needing to get a shifter to determine if the one in my car is capable of going into reverse.
I seem to have two incorrect ones, cant get reverse in either transmission right now. (but I dont have a running engine)
I have a couple of ribcase trans very reasonable in Winston-Salem NC.
Find me at mgexp.com and PM me there, same "screen name" as here. Also have a shifter you could borrow.
