My wife's. About 180k. Black with black wheels, tan leather and clear front and side markers. Typical A,B,C pillar cover issues. Passed MD inspection last summer.
It's a bit of a long story but, we bought it needing a radiator. It had just hadtires and brakes. We started by doing radiator, hoses and tank. Then the alternator. Then it started running hot so, ultimately, we did the entire cooling system including hard plastic lines, thermostat, sensors, fan clutch, etc.
Anyway. Right after it began running hot again. Diagnosed as head gasket. So I now have another engine, new head gasket set and new lower gasket set for the new engine. Recently replaced all filters, coil packs, plugs and other incidentals.
My tech has lost it. Child custody matter pushed him over the edge. And I don’t have the time to do an engine swap in the near future.
A trade has to be auto, 4 dr ( or wagon or Toyota minivan), decent fuel economy, rust free ( the BMW is), needing little to no work immediately.
With the right deal, you can have my open trailer to haul it back.
In Highland, MD.
FWIW, still has vinyl manual interior. Leather power is in storage. Have the harness in case its not already in the car.
I am willing to go up or down with cash too. And remember I have the trailer you can use to tow it home.
I thought an e46 would gather some attention.
The other option is cash and I buy her another car.
Do you have a trade value in mind?
I may have a car to trade but it's a manual.
Is the BMW an auto or stick? And a few pics might help.
Paul
Pics please. Also pics of the trailer!
I still haven't figured out how to post pics. Send me an email and I'll send some. It's an auto with no tranny trouble. I have no idea on price. I know what I have in it and it hurts. Ouch.
If anyone has sent a pm, I didn't get it.

Just for reference, one of the BMW sales/service places just posted a 1999 323i w/ 195k miles, 5-speed for $1500 in running driving, inspected condition. Unless it's an M3, the e46's are really going down in price.

Not around here. Good ones bring 3k +. Problem is this os a mixed bag. A lot of the e46 problems are fixed but it needs the swap. Any e46 I'd assume needs a complete cooling system change, at least. I guess you could install a 330 engine. To me it isn't worth the 1k premium
