Does anyone have experience with the different obd2 bluetooth scanners? Any recomendations? Is a $10 one different than a $100 one?
I want to get one and figure it's worth spending the extraif I can get more diagnostic abilities. For example my current obd2 scanner won't allow me to set timing on my 1999 suburban are any of the bluetooth ones able to?
My experience : the cheap elm327 (?) And torque work great on my android. Don't work at all on an iPhone.

I also spent some time looking for a bluetooth scanner that would let you see GM cam retard so you could set it. The torque app didn't show it. My search came up empty handed on other apps as well.

Carista also has an overpriced Bluetooth 4.0 dongle that'll work for both Android and iOS.

I bought this one about 3 months ago. works great with Torque Pro on my android phone and tablet. My only complaint is that it's a little large to leave sticking out of the dash, but I bought an extension cable and stashed it in the glove box. problem solved.
Most everyone I've read about has been fine with the cheaper ones.
I would suggest trying 'OBD Car Doctor free' as an alternate app for interfacing with one of the cheap OBD Bluetooth scanners. Torque was configurable but had a cheap, unfinished look. You can also send codes to yourself and find definitions through the app.

I have been using this same one for a few years now and it works great
