We need someone to build fast Miatas. V8s, Exocets, turbo installs, suspension - basically, install everything and anything we sell including building cars that go on magazine tests.
Auto Technician position available. Like Miatas, mountains, lakes, hiking, fishing, skiing, hunting? Want to live in Colorado? We have an opening in our shop for an Auto technician who is either ASE certified or has a minimum of 5 year experience working in a performance/specialty shop. Welding experience is preferred and you’ll need to bring your own tools. Relocation benefits are not offered.
We install everything we sell on customers’ Miatas (e.g., turbo and supercharger kits, Hydra ECUs, V8 engine swaps, suspension kits, exhaust systems, big brake kits, roll bars). This is not a flat-rate position; our mechanics work on an hourly basis (usually 40 hours per week). We work Monday – Friday and offer medical, dental, vacation benefits as well as a Simple IRA plan. If you’re interested in joining our great crew, please email: teri@flyinmiata.com.
Let me see as maybe my friend could help
I await the posting for Chief Test Driver...

If only I lived in the states. Sounds right up my alley
I'd like to point out that many - if not most - of the people working at FM moved cross-country (or further) to get here. Not all were single at the time. Let's see, we've had people who came from CA, PA, OK (two of them), GA and Canada.
As ever, the person who gets this job will be the one who figures out how to make it happen instead of the ones who look for reasons why it can't

I have a lot of work to do if I'm gonna convince y'all to perform pharmaceutical research on the side!

To be fair, no one likes Oklahoma, especially people from Oklahoma.

I'd settle for a machinist position.

This sounds like it would be right up Curtis73's alley.

I believe they're in Grand Junction.
Any openings in your fire protection department?
Woody, we actually have a volunteer fire fighter on staff and one of our old shipping guys left us to be a full time fire fighter after doing it part time for a while. I guess that means we're a fire fighter friendly employer.
Correct, Grand Junction. A great place to live. You can drive to Moab off-road from here in a couple of hours. We're near some of the best skiing in the world but have no snow in town. It's one of the ten sunniest places in the US. Best mountain biking anywhere. No emissions tests . No rust. If you like doing things outside, it's tough to beat.

Hmmm... I can actually retire today if I want to...

I'd love to, but I doubt rebuilding an 1800ES, re-wiring a Spitfire and doing various DIY engine and suspension mods on new MINI's would be an adequate resume.
That's for us to decide Seriously, if you're at all interested then apply - or at least call and talk to Bill, the owner. He's a non-scary guy. Not everyone here followed the straight and narrow path to get here.
Wow.... Maybe I need to get the wife to job hunt in that direction.

5 years of experience? Nope. How bout 2 years doing oil changes and tires, and about 6 working in a shop environment on personal vehicles and those of friends?
Welding experience? Nope? Well ok I made a little dude out of some bolts at a friends place.
ASE Cert? Nope, but I do like the outdoors!
Still would love to apply for this awesome job.
Sooo I might just be getting my resume ready tonight.

Then apply. I can't guarantee that everyone who applies will get hired, but I can guarantee that anyone who does not apply will not get hired.

Probably not totally relevant, but any idea how an Aussie guy would go about working in america.
The Mrs and I are increasingly interested in spending a couple of year's state side. The whole just have a month or 2 holiday doesn't appeal to us.
Sorry for the thread jack

Specifically designed for Aussies . The other method that has worked for some of us (Aussie and non-Aussie alike) of ending up with a US citizen spouse might to find your missus' approval.
