This isn't quite as hardcore technical as the book Jerry and I wrote on EFI. This is one that got inspired by a lot of newbie posts on various message boards, "I just got a ____ and want to start modding it, but have no idea where to start!" In many cases, I thought it would take a book to answer a lot of the newbie questions. So, I wrote one.
The goal for this book is to give a beginner a working knowledge of what parts on a car does what, how they can be changed out for better performance, and what the tradeoffs are likely to be. It covers the basics of engine work, suspension, car electronics, and more. Obviously, it's not going to be as in depth as a single subject-specific book, but the goal I had for this book is to give a beginner a good all-around starting point for a complete project car.
