Some of these belts were acquired from a buy out from another retailer and others just did not sell before the time period began on them. We do not ship full price belts to customers once the competition time clock lifespan has entered it's second month, thus the discounted pricing.
For instance: SFI Belts: The manufacturer ships these belts to our warehouse pre-punched, signifying the manufacturing date. Let's say we place an order of new belts in October 2014, they may arrive to us with the tag punched November 2014, which would be the beginning of the 2 year lifespan, expiring in November 2016 (although most organizations will be somewhat lenient and permit using the belts through the 2016 calender year). Once mid December arrives and the belts are still on our shelves, we feel the customer would not be getting full value for their purchase, so we tag these particular belts for discount. Keep in mind, many clubs, tracks and/or sanctioning bodies allow for a lifespan longer than 2 years.
FIA Belts: These will arrive at our warehouse with the expiration year affixed to them. Most organizations will permit an FIA stamped belt to be used in competition of a period of 5 years. Simply put, whatever the indicated year on the tag, those belts will expire on December 31st of that particular year (ex. 2017 tag expires on December 31st of 2017).
