Bear with me on this we at DRVOLKS.com have been running TDI base Lemon/Champ/Bracket cars for over 10 year. We run splitters, 9 lives wings on our cars so last year I wished to test a super mod roof wing on our 2010 Jetta TDI car with there air controlled

rear pistons like a DRS system. Yes it worked so nice there was no information on how to set it up so it took me and my son some time and testing. At the end of last year races I found a very nice engineer to help with real date and testing we found a way to keep the cost down and and bring this old guy up to speed.so with his help we got the splitter to this Hi, with the new tunnels we are up to 180lbs of downforce 67mph from the splitter, up from 140 before. Our target speed was 30-70 mph

Wow. Not exactly what I was expecting when I opened this thread, but thank you for sharing.

That very well could be the biggest wang ever attached to Jetta. laugh

The title does say BIG wings, but I also was not expecting quite this big :)

What's the drag like? Impact on speed on the straights?

sorry I was having trouble adding all the data  can I edit it?

Big wings (Wangs) on production body cars do they work? Yes]

I wish to share with the group what we have found on running a big Wang on the DRVOLKS.com car last year with 25 hour of racing using the super mod wing. All our testing been in 30-70 MPH turns.

We found a great guy to do the real simulation on it and lead use in the best way to set every thing up. It in the spirt of Lemons big is better Package

Big Wing + Splitter

Tested Speed (MPH) 70

Total Downforce On Vehicle (LBS) 558.7

Total Drag (HP) 60

Downforce Wing (LBS) 761

Downforce Splitter (LBS) 195.93

Lift Car (LBS) 398.14

Front Downforce % 63-60

This wing is self adjusting so we can adjust the air piston to drop from a 10 deg angle or less of attack to 0 angle at any speed.

We found a site from MIThttps://news.mit.edu/.../design-future-car-with-8000... for the car model to use for free and and https://www.dxm-engineering.co.uk/ show me how to scan pages of the splitter and wing with measurement for him to work up the sims over the winter. We did test a nine lives rear wing too . The cost was cheap if you guy wish me to lay out how its done let me know and in the post I will add to it we will be ready to test all the upgrades soon
