Is there some aerodynamic advantage to the reduced height of the center approximately 1/3 of the rear spoiler on recent Ford and Mopar products or is it just for better rear view mirror sight line?ok

I always figured those spoilers were mostly decorative.  I figured it's for increased visibility.

Toyota Camry TRD has the same - I too figured it's to see out the back.

Performance wise it is a thing at the pointy end of the scale. Think of it like a twisted wing to take better advantage of the local air angle of attack on a rear mounted wing. For a spoiler the ends are doing most of the work.

Styling/production wise it is a way to create a link to motorsport and reduce the number of long straight lines (anti-cyber truck). In the production world I bet ther was more than one discussion of the cost of tooling per car versus performance (drag reduction) when looking at simple versus complicated shapes.

I have personally witnessed the conversation about a more robust splash pan costing $0.05 more per vehicle and did it provide enough drag reduction to be worth the effort.
