DIY Plexiglass spoiler

Wing bought off CL from a drifter with custom end plates (leftover plexi from spoiler actually)

So which was more better?

Imo that wing is still way to small for SM

It's tough to tell which was more effective. With varying courses and traction I would have to use them back to back on the same day.

It is pretty small for SM. The plan was to add a (large) gurney flap to the back edge eventually. I may go back to the spoiler to anyway.

How thick is the lexan? I found a sheet in my shop this morning but its only 1/8" if I remember correctly.

What about one of these and then use Clecos to mount it, so it just easily unbolts when you want to run it on the street?

Pretty sure it's 1/8 or 3/16". Thick enough to be sturdy but thin enough to flex to the shape of the trunk. The curve of the trunk ends up making it super rigid against downforce too.

My SSM miata,areo engineer buddy of mine whipped up the single element design.

See that looks like it would work at reasonable speeds. My BIG HONKING wing on the track car does not even really start making down-force until 110mph. Those look like they would work under 40mph.

Mine is the last one in the line (underprepped with soft top up). On R7s on concrete last year I data logged 1.45G in a couple different turns.

Aero is cool, I want to get better with using it.
