That's what I was envisioning when I was planning to make that piece. On a whim I did a search for 6 into 1 collectors and one of those popped up. Then I found one that had the wastegate hole and I was sold.

Lol. I'm flattered. 

I have mixed emotions. I would have really liked to have gone to the challenge. The problem was, we were building a drag car. With a little more time, my Dad and I would have thrown together the Corvette and made an attempt at the autocross. We started laying out the timeline, and it just didn't make sense.

In some ways I am glad we did not go. I would likely not be working on this right now if we had gone to the challenge. It may not have ever happened (at least to this car) if we had gone to the challenge. I have been wanting to do a boosted inline 6 cylinder for close to 7 years now. This is really turning into a dream car for me.

You guys will be happy to know that I am striving to have this car there next year. I think I can make it happen!

Turbo manifold is done!

After all that welding the flange had to be resurfaced.

It was getting late, and I wanted to let the paint dry so I didn't get any pictures of it on the car. Maybe tomorrow night.

Starting to come together. 

Also modified the turbo outlet flange.

Next up, radiator and intercooler

i cant explain how happy i am to see the Atlas engine getting some real love, i think it would be a great engine to drop into an early 2000's chevy/gmc regular cab short bed truck, add some boost, and tell people its just a chevy 6 cylinder truck.

So I have the placement for the intercooler and radiator sorted out.

It's tight, and I'm going to have to make a new radiator shroud, but it's going to fit!

might just be easier to cut a trailblazer down to a truck. you could almost rebadge it as a Colorado/Canyon and get away with it too

I have a Trailblazer with 300000 miles on it that would be perfect for that.

I made a little bit of progress. I keep spinning my wheels. I guess I'm just down to the small tedious stuff.

I made a new radiator shroud.

Also, I started making the intercooler mount.

I got in contact with Matt of Sloppy Mechanics. He is very interested in the project. I may even get some help with dyno-ing the car from him. I'm pretty excited about that. 

I'm hoping to make some serious progress this weekend.

Shhhhhh I now  that but momma would be on my arse!!!

And we're back! We took a little break to finish up the Nova. 

We moved it into the main shop, and got back to work. 

The original tensioner will work, so Dad thinned out the original bracket.

Dad went to work on the hot side. I went to work on the cold side. Lots of welding. I was pretty happy with how they came out.

We plan to add a flexible joint to the wastegate tube.
