Exactly! Really needed this reset. Turns it back to fun.
My whole lunch break is in the hood. This car is rough.
but its getting better. Just a lot of work to bring the neglect off.

Thanks! Im not a detailer. Nor do i ever really focus on washing and waxing and such. But it is rewarding! May have to do more in the future.
I think detailing is easier with practice. Like learning how warm is too warm, how sunny is too sunny, how hard to push, and how quickly to keep moving.
I didnt care for the "oh, THAT'S how you burn through to the primer" type things tho

When i did the wetsanding and buffing on the challenge car, i learned a lot. However, the Maguire's 205 is leaving a residue on this car that is a cast iron motherberkeleyer to get off. Ive tried a bunch of different techniques and the only one ive found to work is using quick detailer to lossen it to get it off with a rag. No technique changes have worked.
Db13.....I'm old and lazy(didn't start at the begining, only statiscally)............are there rear disc's on this whooptie ?

Whaaaaa?!?!?!?!?!!!!! are there plans for an update(4whldiscbrks) on this topic?
Nope. Ive NEVER run out of brake on this car. It hauls down very very well.
I have parts to convert to Corvette c5 calipers on 13 inch rotors up front. And don't think ill ever use them.

Properly set up drums are a thing of magic

Three weekend goals for the duster:
1. Finsh cleaning it up on exterior.
2. Install new stereo parts, find hvac issues.
3. Measure for parking brake cables.
I'm npt sure if it will work in your case, but I always heard dishwashing liquid would remove old wax. Car washed are formulated to leave it on. No idea if its true or not, but a test may be in order.
I used a clay bar for the first time a few years ago. Amazing things. Oh, and the car looks great.

I don't think it's the old wax and stuff (washed with dawn). Its really only happening to that incredible extent on the horizontal surfaces. The sides are working like the challenge car did.
So, some sort of fallout the claybar didn't remove? Dunno. The decklid is the only really bad one left.
But, good, roof, and passenger side are done!
the decklid WAS the worst panel.....
My hands hurt, but its done. And im looking forward to seeing it in the sun.
Got a little carried away. Used the kenwood 744 amp bridged to run the front blaupunkt components this time. The Memphis 6x9 rear and 3.5 fronts are run off the head unit wich is now a kenwood kmm x-503. The old jl 12w6 is wired 2 ohm to a Rockford fosgate crunch amp.
Roughly 2000 watts, 9 individual speakers.
It hits hard enough on kick drum notes to move your spleen.

huh????? someone say something???? These ear screws I'm sportin' these days are the result of a pinch of this and 900# steam to dry out a chemical plant after a retrofit.....louder than a jet airliner by far ....not to mention not having appropriate PPE.....grrrr Michael love this following closely..............peace out

My father once said that maturity is knowing the volume knob also turns to the left.
Yes, this stereo is ludicrous. And potentially deafening. However, other than the head unit, it was all laying around taking up space. It sounds fantastic at 1/4 volume in the shop sitting there. Should be perfect at about 1/3 volume windows up, or 1/2 windows down.
