Clem are you near sc? (Clemson?)
I am in the process of removing a complete and excellent condition braking system from a 92 Gt. Master cylinder, spindles, everything front and rear. This would be an upgrade from an 83. I don't know where you are going with this build but I also have 3" ducts and hawk HP+ or HPS+ pads.
Switching to 5 lug so also available are four 16x7 pony wheels with tires. Other leftovers blah blah blah.

^Indeed. Actual GT spindles so you can put '87-'93 GT struts on it and 11" rotors vs 10".
I've been wondering about this car but I didn't want to pester you about updates, I fully understand the whole "very busy" thing.
Email Sent to akylekoz. As far as updates...I don't have any. My main focus of late has been wiring the barn where this thing will ultimately come to life. It's been too cold and dark for progress on the car itself. I'm on the lookout for parts. Have been actively searching. Oh...This also followed me home:
So there's that. No shortage of projects. Wish I could say the same about daylight, free time, and money Thanks, Clem

And...I bought a $50 rearend for the Toyota a few weeks back. Worst case, It'll help me roll the truck around. Best case...it'll help me drive the truck around under 5.0 liter power someday

It's a '58 Rich Line. I'm excited to find a ~35 HP short shaft for it and get out on the "Big Muddy."
I did buy a much-needed transmission crossmember for the mustang today. I got it from a guy who will probably supply me with LOTS of stock/factory parts I'll need for the project.
In another month, we'll be seeing the possibility of warmer weather!
Ok...I've been doing lots of (cold weather) pondering and planning on this.
I figure before I put the engine in, I ought to hose the engine bay down with some paint. This is about the first black car I've ever owned...and I like that. Anyway, I'm glad I can paint the engine bay black, but what product should I use?
It will be painted outdoors or at best in my gravel-floored pole barn. That's a fact of life, for now. I don't want to spend a fortune. I'd frankly prefer to shoot it just once (single stage).
I do have a big-ass compressor and a cheap suction gun (old school high pressure type sourced from Harbor Fright 10 years ago).
Given all that, should I just pick up some black tractor paint? Blitz Black? One of the brands of "Hot Rod Black" I've seen mentioned in threads on interwebsville?
Or should I get an HVLP gun and (though these aren't related) do a two stage paint of some sort?
I'll hit the engine with it too. Might as well, right?
Further down the road, I figure I'll do a satin or semi-gloss type finish on the outside because (I don't care what anyone else thinks of it) I like it. If it makes sense to shoot the engine bay in the same stuff, game on.
That said, I've been real tempted to skip this whole engine bay paint step and just start bolting parts together in the spring and enjoy driving it. But I do think a little detail will go a long way. It's not easy to pull the engine out later just to paint stuff.
Thanks.
I remember hearing that stuff was pretty good. Is it that good? Would work well in an engine compartment?
It's pretty much my go-to paint when I don't need to match an existing finish. It doesn't need primer (in fact, I've had much better results without) and it's great at hiding surface imperfections. I think it would be perfect for an engine compartment.
Hey clem, my dad and I were cleaning his shed out and found a set of E7 302 heads, a complete late 70s 302 that was rebuilt a while back, and edelbrock valve covers and intake. Any of this sound interesting to you?

Picture Glen Quagmire getting excited...except about car parts. That's me.
Giggity.
found a t top 85 in the local craigs this weekend. 5spd with motor... 1500... listing says "interior rough" walk away?

If you like t-tops, it's worth a look. That engine/transmission combo is great because it's a carbureted roller engine and it should have the World Class T5.
Not going to have the issues I would were it convertible would I?
the t tops dont look bad. I like the idea of being able to open the roof up.
t top cars are horribly flexy, if you plan to drive it hard at all its going to need atleast subframe connectors. after bending one I would never personally own another.
Fairly sure that can be said of all the foxbodies. I'll keep looking, the misses was not very keen on it anyways.

if you want a "Stiff" fox body, take a look at all the extra bracing everywhere on a Lincoln LSC. Big weight penalty but it doesn't take long to figure out where the extra weight came from.
Well, it's been almost a year since I updated the project status (and honestly, since I did anything with the project). Over the last couple weeks there has been some minor activity. I've moved the Mustang into the barn where I can start to work on it (thanks Singleslammer and other friends for help pushing!).
The biggest news is that this past week I acquired a parts donor SN95 car. This should provide an 8.8 rearend, and better brakes. Hopefully I can sell body parts from the car to recoup most of the $500 I had to spend on it.
