So I agreed to buy this cherry(ish, mostly in color) 1987 Suzuki Samurai from Nocones. He was offering it up for a deal and I was the first sucker to say yes. I haven't seen it yet in person but have already bought a set of Wrangler Trailrunner ATs in 235/75/15 for it. Now to plan the adventure when I go get the thing and drag/drive it home. Stay tuned folks.

I totally was able to resist looking at that thread. Glad you weren't able.

If this does break your wife, please keep me in mind for Panther frames
This is just the type of shenanigans I've come to expect from you. Looking forward to horsing around at 1mph with you in the samurai, and me in the Wrongler.
Congrats! I had presented this Suzuki to Mrs Logdog as a cheaper alternative to a side by side. She reminded me we have a perpetually broken CJ5....
I feel like I will be involved it this. Whether I want to or not.
But who am I kidding of course I want to.
I saw that ad just a little too late. I'm looking forward to seeing it shred.
In reply to Racebrick :
You were likely the reason that this occured. If I didn't have pressure then I would feel obligated to talk to the wife and it would have been shot down HARD. So thank you??
In reply to Mr_Asa :
Oh really? Send me a message Mr. Asa.
I believe this one is now named Prince. It is small, purple, from the 80s, and badass.
Your excitement for this really makes me want to find a small 4*4 to make fun and adventures with.. . Oh wait. .
Very excited to see what you do with this. Hopefully you manage to take it where it deserves to go.

I need to get you a raspberry beret.
In reply to Stampie :
That could be a challenge theme for Prince here. May need to lower it a little to make it under the rollover limits.

Stack bolt on spacers until it's legal.

This is the OG UTV
Very glad I missed that sale thread when it was available. I have a soft spot for these.
I am way down a rabbit hole on this thing and I haven't even seen it yet. Suspension is going to be kept pretty mild (IE cheap). Other things, maybe not so much. Need to "complete" some of my other projects first.
I bet that 1UZ you have would fit in the engine bay. It is CAVERNOUS.
In reply to nocones :
Lol, I was thinking more along the lines of a microsquirt, TBI, and a gt1241 I have sitting on the shelf.
Can't those go on the 1UZ?
That idea is probably better. But best would be to find a clapped out TDI VW. I've seen numerous of those for $1500ish..
In reply to nocones :
You are probably right but I already have most of the things to do the upgrade on the 1.3. Depends on how healthy it is.
I've got a 95 tracker I left at mom and dads as a "runabout/farmtruck" that I wanted to do just that. The engine bay is perfectly suited for boost, when the little 1.3 goes boom, Here comes the TDI.

Freiburger and Dulcich put a 440 in one with a bit of cutting so the 1UZ should just drop in, surely lol
Not while retaining 4wd I doubt though

With SingleSlammer, even if it doesn't fit entirely within the engine bay, he won't back down.
