Hey y'all. I'm trying to see if there's an easy fix for the fuel level gauge on my Q45. I did the fuel pump on it a while back and while that has been flawless, it appears that pulling the pump while the tank wasn't empty confused the level sensor and now half a tank is the low fuel mark. I was just thinking of pulling the cluster out and physically repositioning the needle, but wanted to see if anyone knew like a recalibration method.
Any help is appreciated
Are you sure the float is not caught on something? Or got bent?
Before touching the gauge, bend the float.
You might try Wes. It's been a few years since I asked him a question but he was prompt to reply. He's forgotten more about these cars that others will ever know.
Being a '90( first year) I wonder if there was a part change over the years and you have the wrong part? Was there a tank change over the years? These are the kinds of things Wes would know.

Float was bent back to as close as possible and when being reinstalled I flicked it a few times to make sure it wasn't catching on anything
In reply to John Welsh :
It's the fuel sender that came from the car, all I swapped was the pump. I've tried emailing him in the past, no dice.
I searched my old emails. The last time I conversed with him was June 2019 and it was the wes@q45.org address.
