Mine had been doing some odd things for a while. On top of the 5 sets of 5 beeps from the airbag module the tripminder would frantically send out morse code signals. Also I never did figure out how to set the clock on it.

Remaining issues:
No overdrive (duh)
driver's side window motor/gear
coolant dribble from EGR coolant hose, the one at the back of the engine, of course...
I finally got aroung to fixing the coolant dribble. The egr coolant hose was torn down by the fitting on the back of the intake.
Even after removing the heater hoses and egr valve it was still a pain in the ass to get to.
Hopped in the Ol' Lincoln to head to work this afternoon and discovered that some mouth breathing assclown had keyed it down to bare metal on the driver's side rear quarter panel.
I'd like to punch whomever did it in the face so hard that their ears smack together.
While filing the police report the officer brought up a possibility that I hadn't considered; maybe a kid was riding by and accidentally scraped it with their handlebars.
I did see a kid riding around at the far end of our block the other day.
That makes me feel better than the possibility of having some assbag intentionally gouge my nearly 24 year old paint.
Edit:
I also found and eliminated the source of the 5 sets of 5 beeps and the dit-da-dit-ditta-dat from the tripminder.
Watched a local Autocross this morning and was inspired to install the 1 5/16" Mustang sway bar I've had in my garage for a few months. What a difference!
Out with the swizzle stick and in with the girth!!!

Batteries just seem to get more and more expensive. Kinda crazy these days.
Yep, $150. It's nuts.
The old battery had apparently lasted 5+ years and I killed it monkeying with the window. It wouldn't hold a charge.

Yeah I suppose if you go by how much it costs per year, longterm, it isn't tooooo bad. But still. They keep going up. I got a battery for my motorcycle 6 years ago and it's still kickin' but I can't say the same for car batteries all the time lol.
I went with 1,000 CCA since that's what the old one was rated at and the Mark has TONS of electrical and electronic doodads.
It now starts very enthusiastically.
I took it for a short spin. Wow, after exclusively driving the Vic for a long time the old Mark feels like a race car!

It did. The new owner just called me and we chatted for a while. He's a car collector who restores older cars that pique his interest. One day on a whim he ran a search for a Lincoln mark VII and mine popped up since I had taken it to a local consignment lot and the owner of the lot advertised it locally and nationally.
Hopefully it lives out the rest of it's life in pampered luxury.
