I somehow glossed over the "oh E36 M3 it broke, so I sold it" part and assumed it was still kickin' around somewhere... sorry for your loss! Sure as hell hope I don't get stranded somewhere with my old man on a road trip.

It sounds like yours has a more commercial-based engine/trans combo, and hopefully chassis too- that would be better for both reliability and on the road repairs than ours was, I think.
