What about making the windshield and hood as one piece hinged at the top with as a seal?

Yep, I do, in fact, have a job. And yesterday was unusually busy and kept me at work late.
A few things did happen yesterday though. The replacement radiator came in. It looks like it will work well. I then discovered that I ran the welder out of welding wire. And then immediately after that I discovered that I had also ran it out of shielding gas. I'll be replacing that today and get back to building the supports for the radiator.
Until next time.

Just for you, another build thread update today. I finished welding in the driver's seatbelt and got started on the passenger's. I worked on fitting the radiator some more. And I got the rear bumper and bumper cover remounted to the van.
Oh, yes. It's low. The lowest part, right behind the rear tire, is a mere 4" above the ground. We're well into crunch time now with the Challenge at the end of the month. It's about time to make a to-do list.
Done. Until next time.
I see some Challenge side awards in your future.
The hard part is deciding which ones:
Peoples Choice
Editor's Choice
Best Engineered
Spirit of the Event
and of course Soccer Mom Class
My inner stance guy is freaking out about the hovercraft fitment on the dustbuster. If any of the judges vaped, you'd automatically have an official pulling for you in the concours.
You inspire me!
I've actually been thinking that combining a Honda Odyssey with drive line parts from a Honda pilot and then of course a big turbo for some awd minivan insanity

Sort-of like how you can hook up a junkyard LS to an AWD Astro van as long as you have the right engine mounts?
The same sort of mish-mash can theoretically be done with some years of Camry and Highlander to make a 4WD Camry, I hear. A quick Googling doesn't really back me up, but I think it's 1999-2001.

Or just find an old All-Trac Camry because toyota already did the hard work for you.
Thanks guys. It's good to know that others enjoy the ridiculousness of this project.

I'm honored, but there are a number of other good builds coming, they just haven't all kept up build threads. I'm particularly interested in seeing the mid-engine, forward control, former $2015 Camaro. And of course the other minivans.
Next Challenge, try doing something we all haven't seen a hundred times already...
(Can you hear the sarcasm?).
This thread is why I have days off!
Following This Thread makes me not even want to bring my piece of E36 M3 build
I'M NOT WORTHY ....I'M NOT WORTHY
I'll agree with the general consensus. Outstanding mischief going on in your shop. Makes a lot of the projects around here seem tame.
Keep up the good work!!

Don't worry about that. Bring your car this year and you can improve it even more for next year. My first Challenge car was an E30 BMW (the one in my avatar). About as "easy button" as it gets for a competitive Challenge car. However, I did have to go and make it unique (complicated) by installing a Rootes supercharger off of a Buick Park Avenue Ultra.

Thanks! More progress was made tonight. I got the gas tank filed with fuel and the fuel filler neck bolted up. The passenger seatbelt mount was welded into place and the belt is now bolted in. I then vacuumed out the interior and reinstalled the rear carpet and center console. It's starting to feel like a real car again.
The to-do list is getting knocked off a little at a time. And my dad is coming by tomorrow to help.
Until next time.
Much progress was made today with the help of my Dad. We made custom mounts for the radiator. It's just under the van's core support and at a sight backward angle. I'll fill it with coolant tomorrow.
And after making a total of four shims, cutting, moving, and rewelding the driver's B pillar, and much tweaking we got both front doors mounted. They still need some adjustment, but they are hanging on the van instead of leaning against the wall.
Until next time.
