Sold the Saab Tuners, bought some 5 lug Saab "Double 3"'s with the intention of running them with adapters. Then decided I'd rather spend that money on my Miata and sold them.

Bought an intercooler + a bunch of piping second hand from my dad

Went to the junkyard and scored big in the form of nearly new looking e-code headlights and grille
So, on with todays update (copy/paste, sorry about references that don't exist here)
So a number of things have happened recently, all at roughly the same time so I'll try to break it up. First: the intercooler.
I ended up trading the one I posted for this monstrosity
So I took the bumper off...
And then took some more of my A/C out. The condenser put up a bit of a fight...
And then, with a bit of hammer-massaging, got it in roughly where I wanted it!
Unfortunately, there wasn't really any room to do things like run hoses to it, so I traded back for the little one and got it mounted.
As you can see I took the opportunity to put these POS's where they've belonged for years; the dumpster.
Then got the IC all hooked up:
Functional, but it was hanging a little too low. IC being the lowest thing on the front of the car = probably bad idea.
So we ended up moving it back, and up just enough. Final product:
And then there's the drivers fender. Over the winter this appeared:
Took off the wheel arch trim and found this :(
Looked around for a good fender without finding much. Then seriks1 offered me this one for a damn good deal ;) It was clean by VT standards... which, of course, means slightly less rusty than mine :lol: There were no holes until I got after it with the wire wheel. Oh well.
After deciding that it wasn't worth spending $xxx having a body shop paint a fender in that condition, my dad mentioned he recently picked up some rattle cans custom mixed to the color code for very reasonable money. Hmm. I've wanted to experiment with something like this for a long time, so why not? Here it is with a guide coat of sorts, wet sanded down and ready for paint for realz.
I went through a can and ended up with this.
Unfortunately one can wasn't quite enough, so we got another and my dad put on the last few coats. Sunday I went up to my parents' and this happened
And on goes the "new" fender!
Then, tonight, I wet sanded it...
And then buffed it. Here's the results...
Not bad for a DIY rattle can job with a total investment of $50, eh? :

. Glad to see someone investing time into one of these cars. I always wanted to get a red Aero model, but could never find one in my price range that was in decent shape.
