Our 24 Hours of LeMons team is building a 1983 Toyota Supra that will be powered by a 1UZ V8 we took out of a Lexus LS400. We got an adapter plate from PMC Motorsport to run a 6-speed from a 2007-2010 BMW 335i. My son fabricated engine mounts and it fits quite tidily in the engine bay. We can even close the hood without modification.

Our team, NachoFriend Racing, has been competing in C class for five years in our 1985 Celica GT-S running its stock 22RE engine. My team consists of our kids (23 and 31 year old sons, our 18 year old daughter and their friends. We've won four trophies with this car (Judges' Choice and Organizer's Choice) and it's been pretty reliable, but the kids are ready for something faster.

Nice! I really like that chassis. No oilpan mods or anything to clear the crossmember? What did the adapter run you?

I have been thinking about a roadgoing version of this for years, very interested to see how it works out.

In reply to iansane :

We will need to relocate some brake lines, but that's about it. The adapter was $470.
