I bought it as a ran when parked, and couldn't open the hood upon inspection. The car has rust. I have yet to crawl underneath, but the trunk is solid along with the front strut towers. The inside cleaned up nicely.
The WrX hood latch was rusted solid and I had to replace it. I was pleased to have the car fire right up. It drives and only one cel.
Happy it's getting some love, will be sending out the receipt folder next time i mail something
The code ends up being for the fuel gauge not working. For some reason 0bd will trip the cel when calculated fuel doesn't match the tank reading.
We moved the car to another warehouse 10 miles away and the car drove ok. It needs to be woken up from not be used often. We found the heater controls to be to hard to move, and with 5 gallons of premium fuel the gauge didn't move.
Here are a few pictures cleaning up the interior:
Thanks Patrick. A few more pictures:
Next week my daughter will probably take it to a local car show. I might try to put on the exhaust before then. There is no hardware or gaskets in the pile, so might slow me down. I need to buy another set of ramps as I'm apprehensive about rust underneath.
After that the pesky timing belt fun. I think I need a new thermostat as one wasn't in the parts pile.
That's looking much nicer.
I found this on the drivers door when cleaning the door jams. The jams and rockers appear to be rust free. Now to grab a HongNorr decal for the windshield....
STLPDX= ???
I never noticed that. It was a MO car so st louis.
also those wheels have been on the car since like 2004, the receipt is in the stuff I'm sending you
The wheels are double wheel locked on. Thankfully both wheel lock tools were in the passenger side door. The tires date coded at 2013. Tire pressures were good.
Teaser from the car records Patrick is sending. Thanks again.
Cool to see it came with an lsd in the rear.
Following. This should be a fun one.
Following, glad I didnt see this with it being not-so-far-away
Look forward to what you do with this, looks fun!
Wash day today. Three hours of exterior scrubbing...
This makes me happy every time i look
I might have a detailer friend do touch ups and get rid of the rust spot.
The fun never ends...title work and plate tomorrow.
Man those Bug-Eyes really were the best/craziest looking Suby's
I never really look at the hood before. It has great lines in it.. The widow sticker says the hood is aluminum.
There's just something awesome about that front end. The bug eyes, fog lights, and the blue scooby emblem is just perfect. Awesome car and thread. Looking forward to more.
And how many warehouses do you have anyway?
In reply to Scotty Con Queso :
I'm blessed to be able to stash stuff in empty warehouses at work. I had my enclosed trailer in a 15,000 sqf wh for 3 years.
I swapped a plate onto the car and got the title work done. The clerk said Ohio state had not completed the paperwork. He said it might take longer than usual for the Georgia title to be sent out. All good.
Kids hitting a car show with it tonight.
So how is the bug eye as a daily driver?
I need something that can haul a toddler, make Home Depot runs, and is enjoyable on mountain roads.
I'd probably be looking at a yellow wagon to replace my prius wagon-any input?
