I find it easier to have both drums off so you can see what your doing on the other side. Just don't start work on the other side before you finish the first side.

Thanks RossD. I have my cam ready . . .
Made a hefty order to Rock Auto:
I ordered some cheap M2 springs for an AE86. I grabbed a 24 mm front sway bar from a Cressida. I heard it would fit from various interweb sources . . . We shall see!
First shipment of goodies arrived today:
Springs won't be here until Monday
I may put a vacuum, brush and soap to those filthy MR2 seats this weekend and start cleaning up the interior . . . Well, what left of it
Man, this bring's back memories. My first car was an '82 auto 4dr the same year. It had similar rust along the door tops and 230k miles when we bought it from a drunk guy at a motel. I remember those drum brakes well, I learned on them too but I was 17 at the time. My dad told me, just don't take both apart at the same time. My next vehicle was a '69 F100 with drums on all four. I remember hammering, prying, and cussing on the fronts for almost 2 hours trying to to get the drums off with no luck. I walked inside and my wife's grandfather had been watching out the kitchen window for a while. He rattled the ice in his tea glass and said "Uh, son, I don't mean to intrude, uhh, but you do know you have to take the cotter pins out and the axle nut off on front drums....right?"
oh.
Keep it up, I always have a soft spot for these 'rollas. I really want a V8 wagon with a 5speed...
I KNEW this had to be owned by a Rican before! The T shifter and the fact its a 2tc/3tc Corolla just gives it away beside the flag.
I know so many people from PR that friggin love these. Turbo 3tcs, rotaries, etc... They are just a good lightweight platform.
In reply to crankwalk:
I thought about doing a rotary swap, but the 3T-C appears to run well although a little blue smoke at start up and runs a bit rich.
I got the springs in today, if I finish staining the deck and have a bit of daylight left, you know where I will be
In reply to Swank Force One:
I was waiting for you to reply to that one
We'll see how the budget comes out . . . I think anythig north of 150whp in thing would make it a death trap
It would also require some serious upgrades that require welding . . . a skill nor equipment I possess at this time.
Even though a small turbo would give decent thrust and stay within the power limit of the axle
Still have a bunch of taped up RockAuto.com boxes e'erywhere since I didn't have anytime work on the 'rolla.
I'm having a time trying to decide which wheels and tires to go with. I found some ultra cheap 15x9 and 15x10 4lug wheels . . . But no suitable tires to fit within the budget.
May have to stay at 15x8 and 225 section width ASTs.
Yeah, but that is outside MY budget
I've limited the tires to a street tire (and $300) since I'll be driving it to events.
Used 225/45-15 RS3s? What about some used 235/50-15 R888s?
The RS3s will be a little stretched on the 15x10, but not obscenely so. They'll be great on the 15x9.

225 RS3s work lovingly on 9's...ask me how I know.
Man this thing is going to have crazy grip. In fact you should go with Rivals or Z2s instead of RS3s, I think they might not heat up fast enough on this car.
So . . . I decided to clean one of the SW20 seats I retrieved from Pull-a-Part.
It the one I cleaned was MUCH worst than the one the right.
After scrubbing for over an hour, the seat appears to be clean, but still stinks pretty good. My poor shop vac . . .
After drilling two holes and using some big washers . . . We have a SW20 MR2 seat in a TE72 Corolla
As stinky as the seat is, I still climbed in and made vroom vroom noises
Pulled the carpet back and discarded the "aftermarket" stereo harness.
I haven't decided if I'm going to keep the carpet or not yet. I did pull the other seat before the rain started again
Took some time today and removed the old, musty carpet.
After some wire brush work and vacuuming, this is what was left:
I'm going to wipe the interior down as it still dusty as hell. Also thinking about leaving the sound deadening in place so it wouldn't sound like an oil drum.
More work to come . . .
Tried to work on the car today and found this in the trunk
Our friendly neighborhood tabby has been at it again . . . And found our house once again to have mo' kittens.
I didn't disturb them.
