it's the Michael Jordan (of baseball) of minivans, and pickups

What are your plans for the mounts? As I understand mounts, wiring, and accessories from a 96-98 3.0 CL make this a plug and play swap for the auto trans.
I bought the mounts and the cross member from a 1998 CL, hopefully I can put them to good use.
In other news I put the white odyssey engine in the beige one. Beige one is now on craigslist.
Let's recoup some budget...

First gen Odysseys are so neat, sort of like an Accord Wagovan. Can't wait to see what you can make out of these; they're so clean for auction bait.

oooooohhhhhhhh, does a GEN 1 Oddy even qualify as a minivan? It doesn't have a sliding side doors or fully open-able clam shell doors but regular partially opening swing ones.
Therefor not a van....
In reply to Flight Service:
We are eager to see a turbo, manual Voyager. It does represent the proven path to this class. See the Voyager as the benchmark of the class.
Don't get too worked about what exactly is a minivan. The greater intention is for this to be a class of unlikely contenders. I think you will agree that an Oddy is an unlikely contender while still not giving it a blatantly unfair advantage over the benchmark of the class.
Also ruled in to be accepted are the GM Aztec/Rendezvous which are much more minivan than they are SUV.
I'm sure once you get the 98 CL subframe in there things will start lining up. At least on the engine side, getting the trans mounted in there will be new territory.
Can't believe I've missed this thread!
From what I can tell from junkyard trips, to swap a J-series into a 94-97 Accord with a 4-cylinder:
-97-99 3.0CL engine side passenger, front, and rear mount
-94-97 Accord 2.7L V6 chassis side passenger mount bracket(97-99 3.0CL looks to be the same)
-94-97 Accord 2.7L V6 front and rear crossmembers+ mounts on crossmembers(these should be the same as the 97-99 3.0CL mounts)
-94-97 Accord "strut rods"(bars that link front LCA to front crossmember- these are longer for the 3.0CL and 94-97 V6 Accords due to the extended front end)
Transmission side will be tricky. You may be able to get away with making some sort of bracket that mounts to a factory driver side mount(94-01 Integras are pretty, 90-93 Accord's are probably about the same), or possibry using something that works with the 97-99 3.0CL/94-97 Accord V6 mount/bracket.
Wiring wise, I highly suspect using parts of the 96-97 V6 Accord and 97-99 CL harness, when spliced with the 3.2 CL's harness, will work. I'm 99% sure the plug ends inside the car between the 96-97 Accord I4/V6, 97-99 CL's, and 96-97 Odyssey's are the same, with minor pinout differences. J30A1's came both with and without distributors depending on the year and model of car they were in. I believe the split for Accord's was in 2000, all the 3.0CL's had distributors as well as the 98-99 V6 Accords.
Almost everything should be the same to drop into an Odyssey. Watching people swap these into 94-97 Accords and seeing them cobble together a bunch of aftermarket swap specific stuff for huge prices hurts my head when 90% of what's needed can be found in the junkyard for pennies. I'm dying to test out my theories but can't... yet.
Try to snag an intake manifold off a 2005 Acura RL, or 05+ Odyssey Touring/EX-L. They're the same casting and both have HUGE midrange gains over the J32A2's intake in back to back testing.
Good luck! let me know if you need any insight/parts, I have some J-series stuff sitting around.
There's a few swaps ongoing/done on hondasociety.com int he 5th gen Accord subforum. Lots of good info in there.
Great info thanks. I have alot of the CL3.0 stuff already. I got all of it off of ebay for 160.00 awhile back. I am hoping to work on the van next week. Hopefully I can get in several solid days work on it since I am off Tuesday through Friday.
Scored a set of coilover sleeves and springs today off of craigslist for $25.00. I also won a set of two front Koni sports for $130 shipped on ebay. The suspension is coming together nicely.

Not sure but in my case the proper rate is "silver"
I measure my spring rates by stepping on them and guessing how much my fat ass compressed them. Let me know if you'd like me to come over and step on yours.

Please do this and put it in your build log.
You'll need to log in to post.
