I feel like I live for updates from this thread now. Sure hope the VIN-cut key works and they haven't swapped the locks.
I don't know if I've ever had a car where one key opens all the locks on the car. That must be nice.

It looks like I might need a notarized bill of sale for the state patrol inspection so I went to visit methman after work. I asked him to meet me at the City hall in the town about 5 minutes from his house tomorrow to get it notorized. He told me he would have to try to find a ride into town because he isn't allowed to drive there (after pulling into his driveway in a pick up 2 minutes earlier). He asked if I could give him a ride, which I declined.
The key will be here Friday!
Let's play a game: guess the number of cranking attempts until it starts. Closest without going over wins...something Saab related. Guess due by Friday.
Ten. Tem is the number of times you will try until on the tenth attempt you realize thed es no gas and it fires right up.
In reply to cdowd:
Note: starting attempts will continue counting after diagnosing issues that I'm sure I won't have
A T5 engine that hasn't run in a while can take a little cranking... I say two tries or it won't run without tinkering. If it takes tinkering (i.e. parts), then it'll be four tries. :D
