Maybe, but as I have several budget events in mind for her, the current frame will have to suffice. Nice idea though, I had considered doing that with a 4x4 chassis but again this build is budget limited.

I have been using this as my weekend ride for the past couple of months, runs great, still sorting the shifter, the B&M appears to be worn out.

I am getting a better steering wheel, that old one is so thin it's no fun slideways in the snow.

Couple of updates from yesterday.

Mounted the Grant Steering wheel, much nicer and more control.

Installed a fresh GM alternator, more amps, and one wire set up/

Mounted a reclaimed brush bar from a Ramcharger, it worked out well IMHO.

Ordered a few parts from Rockauto. Including a dimmer switch and idler arm

Where can i find a fuel sender for this car

It has electronic ignition, but I like a good spark and the engine has potential. The brake lines have all been replaced, it actually has factory front discs, I'm now thinking about a booster. 4000lbs and decent hp, might want to stop it sometime.

Trust me, cinder blocks are NOT safe. When they fail, they don't move an inch, they move all the way. Wayne's buddy John's wife watched him die under a car. Wayne had to fly out to Texas and sell John's Datsun stuff to pay for the funeral. Don't be a dumb-berkeley.

I know poopie has this covered, but I have an anecdote for you. I was using a cinder block as a spreader in a press. Dumb, sure, but I was wearing safety glasses or at least had the osha squint on hand. Everything was going well, pump pump pump, then the bearing I was pressing in hit a bind or something and I bore down on the pump handle and the block just shattered. Nothing dramatic, it was just suddenly not a block any more and there was a lot of empty space between the press and the spindle.. and there were some concrete bits all over the floor. I figure yanking on a car that's up on blocks could have the same effect, except that safety glasses or squinting isn't gonna do a whole lot.

Did a few little fixes and upgrades yesterday on the Zombiechero.

Replaced and relocated the high beam dip switch to make it easier to press.

Got the spotlights on the push bar working, wired through same relay as the spots on the roll bar.

Replaced the idler arm, only steering component showing wear and greased front end.

Installed a cheap set of air horns.

Spent Saturday morning at the junkyard and found a set of base model manual Taurus seats and 1/2 console to replace the junk Camaro seats currently in there.

Welded some more home made patch panels in and half blinded myself in the process, damn it I wont do that again and I am getting a decent welding mask to replace this piece of E36 M3

New P71 springs and Bilstein shocks installed, I chose these to gain a little clearance for zombie obstacles.

I picked up some more ZAV appropriate tires as well, they go on this weekend.

Sort of Steve, it has new P71 cop cars springs with oversized off road tires on it now, along with bilsteins and Portfield pads/linings.

OK guys, I got the message, no cinder blocks under my cars whatsoever.

The Ranchero hasn't been on blocks for about a year.
