Good luck man, I'm rooting for you.
Made it down and back without any problems. That's over 2000 miles.
Didn't have enough traction to take advantage of the engine, truck needs a LSD. I removed the welded 3.73 and used an open 3.08 for the Challenge. I didn't want to risk an axle failure 1,000 miles from home, and the hi-way RPM was high enough with the 3.08. Truck ran a 15.2 with lots of tire spin and poor shifting by me. Decent rubber will surely put this thing well into the 14's. ( I am used a 440 UTG tire)
Considering selling it, offers?
I should have posted this sooner, I had it in teh build book and on the truck during the concours:
While not a formal team, there is a list of people to thank. Weather they lent me a tool, gave me some inspiration, advice, or rolled up their sleeves for a few hours each was an important contribution.
Chuck LaVoy - Thanks Dad!
Steve LaVoy – Truly my brother from another mother.
Barb Curtis - sewing skills are part of every Challenge car, right mom?
