I don't think he'd invite me back to crew for a car that nice either!

Wow. Just wow. I read the write up, it was amazing. And Congrats on the most epic engagement story of all time!
I wish I was up at magnum opus this year, (racing or crewing) but work on car and vacation time allowed me a choice LSPR or OPUS....
I may have chosen wrongly....
I love the story and I'm glad you were able to finish. Rotaries love it when you just go... "awwwwww berkeley it!" then braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap.
Also I like to describe an uncorked rotary as a tossing a racoon in a burlap sack with 1000 bees and you just shake it, thats the sound it makes but you need to amplify the volume to a few hectadecibels. It shakes glass in building like a sonic boom

Hey! I sent you a PM about this a while ago, did it not go through? I'll probably be out your way next weekend, maybe we can make something happen.
Wow! Finally got a chance to read the event write-up. Awesome, Chris! And congratulations on the engagement!

Nope, didn't go through. Damn, I am in Illinois this weekend until late on the 4th. Hopefully you mean next weekend.
Welded the rear towers back together and took a terrible photo after paint:
Unwrapped the horrifying remains of the positive battery cable fix that got us through 60 miles of special stages:
Yanked a bunch of stuff out of the engine bay in preparation for engine removal:
Wow, That battery fix is both awesome and terrible at the same time. Looks like you should take this hunk to that car wash and clean the engine bay before going much further. It'll be a much better place to work if a bit cleaner.
I might clean the engine bay once the engine itself is out- until then there's too many places for the mud to collect. I'm pretty used to working on filthy crap at this point
So that's how the rivets were used
I'd say it worked pretty well for a fix during a 20 minute service!
In reply to terrantmike:
$1200, as stated on the previous page. You want to ask the other standard "guy who walks up to you at the gas station" questions? (How fast does it go? Ever take it off any sweet jumps?)
In reply to ¯_(ツ)_/¯:
Yeah, my cousin's uncle's brother's dog has one just like this, it's faster though.
This is going to be a big weekend on the road! First down to NC for... well, you'll see Then up to Frostburg to buy a 13b from Evan/hang out at the rallycross a little, then somewhere near Pittsburgh for ANOTHER engine and checking out another FC, then home.
You'll need to log in to post.
