He should paint his wheels blue so you two can be reverse-twinsies.

Your Buzz Light Year is much better!
Good news, 3 hours in and nothing has flown off the car. That means a rubber roof tonneau holds up to 80mph winds. Let's shoot for 105 on Friday.
The nitrous now fires thanks to a lot of help/stampie doing all the work. Praying that advanced auto comes in in the clutch with a new power steering/water pump belt in the morning or else my day may be cut short.
You know how the nice guy always comes in last? On his last past Andy finally beat us hitting his horn button the whole way way down the track.

And WON the pick-up class.
Congratulations

I lost to the Miata pickup but we proved that cars that look like pickups are faster than pickups.
Finishing 15th overall seemed like a solid effort considering I didn't have power steering or a water pump all weekend.
Stampie really saved me when it came to wiring up the nitrous kit in the parking lot.
I'm going to keep this as a backup car for next year in case I don't finish my other project.

I came up with an idea for the return of the Q45 that would require the ghettocet to make a return to sit beside it
On Sunday October 15th, I broke the belt that controls the power steering. Unfortunately, it also ran the water pump. I ended up purchasing 6 belts total. I purchased the first 2 belts assuming the parts stores knew what they were talking about. The four belts purchased after that were of various sizes near what I needed, but still not short enough. The last one, I tried at the challenge was very close and may have worked, but the tensioner was seized. Three people "told" me that while I wasn't listening because I was too focused on finding a belt that would run both the power steering and the water pump. In the end, the people at all auto-parts stores weren't able to correctly identify the belt necessary for a Q45.
At the end of the event I was pleasantly surprised that I had received my highest concourse score ever. Along with achieving my fastest drag time. The lack of power steering and a water pump put me at the back of the pack for autocross, which is unusual for me. I always enjoy seeing familiar faces and new ones at the event each year, it truly is a place to find a unique group of car guys. Picture time!
I'll be back with more bad ideas for next year later.
The car has returned to its underground lair awaiting its new belt and idler pulley.
Last post in this thread before I start Andy’s $2018 build thread. I even bid on a van this morning. You can see the wagon potential in the background.
In reply to GTXVette :
The E320 wagon wont be a home made wagon. The only question will be if it gets done in time. Usually I never finish a car that didn’t start out as a running car in the first place.
In reply to Andy Neuman :
Rumour has it that those 6 cylinders take boost real well. That why I was interested in buying it at one time.
In reply to Stampie :
So does a 4.8 LS engines out of a van....
I can’t leave work for 5 minutes. My cousin took on another 4 days of work a week for my employees the rest of the year. That and he bought a small company that I didn’t even know existed.
Still not as bad as the year my father fired a full time employee when I was gone. He didn’t even bother mentioning it till a day after I made the schedule for the following week.

I must have misunderstood you because I swear you're saying that you are going to LS swap the Mercedes.

It’s one of those things that sounds really good in concept. If I can find help to make motor/transmission mounts I should be able to semi figure out the rest. Maybe a little extra help if I run into some issues.
