I would abandon it, but i hate rust
Whats after challenge plan? If theres life after, replace. If scrap, cheap.

Probably will be replace top hats, teach my wife how to drive a manual around my parking lot, maybe the challenge and then to the scrap yard. I can’t sensibly sell this to someone.
Backup plan bring the mustang to the challenge and dominate.
I think your plan is throwing good money after bad. Part out the p5 specific stuff, scrap whats not selling. If i was running tech, i couldn't in good conscience let it race.

I’m better off abandoning something like this. Also I’ve never seen tech at an autocross crawl under a car to see structural damage. I’m already surprised it didn’t fall through the jack stands, so some of the structural integrity is still present.
Re assembled everything. Going to teach my wife to drive it then park it out front of my business for sale. Should have a local person that may want it.
In extremely good news, bad news for my fellow Q45 owners, the Q”Ute” fired right up today and idles like a real car. Also after reworking the budget I’ve got some room to play.
With the autocross only format I now have $635.67 left in the budget on the Q45!!! The things I could do with $635.67. <probably nothing
Remember when I thought I could build a real contender. Didn’t think so, but this was my first attempt at a challenge car back when I had more time in life.
I’m having the age old eBay debate on adjustable front control arms to dial in some camber on the Q45. Prices range from $65-800, which ones will hold up for 1 race?
Going to buy every eBay part a drifter could dream of affording.
In reply to Andy Neuman :
If you want to post some of them GRM can probably provide some armchair reverse-engineering
Prices in no specific order 68, 130, 225.
Thinking of ordering 300zx koni shocks for a $230 budget hit. I’d probably be forced into another Q45 build with full interior later on.
Funny they don't look skinny, but next to two, that are as big as 3, I guess they are, would they fit a vette width ?
The adjustable arms with jam nuts look easier to replace components on in case of failure/quality problems

245/40-17 275/40-17.
The two next to it are ccw classics 18x12/13? with 335s. Pat, If you needed giant rear wheels for that camaro you purchased.
I may have another set before the challenge also depends on how fast I get the Q45 together. 295/335-17.
Ive been trying not to be a hoarder and building replicatable challenge cars.
andy- pat, A couple years ago I TRADED my gs wheels for a set of 18/19 vette staggered rims , the 19's don't fit the early c4 rear end, the later c4 is a bit wider, the 19's have brand new Hoosier a6 , I want a set of the GS wheels, also have a set of vette 16's and a set of vette 17's , consider Trades?
I Saw Pat had some GS rims and the 17in tires could go on the Fiero,
This is what prevented a top 10 last year. The Q45 now has power steering and a water pump again. Just need to re theme the race car and make some other minor changes such as gas tank accessibility.
In other news, I finally recalled my employee has a neighbor who likes to repair rust and pay himself nothing. Example: rusted out rockers on a Silverado were cut out replaced and painted for under $200.
I’ve been busy at work and using the temporary services to fill in some general labor. Needless to say the temporary service has been confusing.
Friday I asked for 4, 8 dispatched, get 6, only have work for 5, but 1 of the 5 I put to work wasn’t one of the 8.
Saturday I think to myself, I asked for 4 people they dispatched 6 and I got 1, what percentage did I get?
Is it 25% or 16.6%?
