Whoa, deja vu! Looks just like my old one, with similar damage. It'll be a good Challenge car.

Now all I have to do is mate this to the spitfire and everyone is in trouble.

We have two G35s between the 4 local pull a parts and one is wrecked in the front.

Actual progress, also need an AC condenser and a few newer hoses. Haven't looked under the car yet but this is the rust behind the assented fender.

Luckily all that's needed to take this apart is a Phillips screw driver a 10mm, 12mm and a pry bar. Also a little patient with the electrical connectors. Probably will pray the pull apart g35 is still intact on Friday.

This one at the pull a part has all but the one headlight  and bumper I need.  It's actually nicer/less crusty than the one I bought smh

Do these cars not stop? Can't find any cheap semi local front bumpers.

All parts acquired, except the bumper and grille.

Tomorrow starts touch up paint and reassembly.

Try to get your bumper and grill from the same car. IIRC different years have different tabs for the grill to mount onto the bumper cover.

Thinking about sending it looking like this still need to connect the front bumper and the radiator. Brushed off the rusty "looking" spots and put some silver paint on in the process.

seems like that front end is ripe for the "Dad Bod Hotrod" front end treatment?

although, that might be more work than the current time available allows.

So I left out some information that was vital to getting this done. The windshield on this car is broken beyond patching and the windshield isn't available till early next week according to every window person I've called.

Tomorrow I'll have time to finish "everything" else. I'll try to drive it everyday around my parking lot till I can get the windshield installed. This is making it difficult to get everything scheduled to have a rebuilt title in time. Worst case I fly to Gainesville with $2000 in my pocket hoping to buy a running vehicle.

edit: one of my iceboxes hit a car this weekend. More free scrap metal to fix the rust.

New windshields in. One of the 4 places I called was able to round one up finally. Need to get rid of my exhaust leak next. For some reason my wife thinks I should trailer the car to the event. Probably going to run Jeep wheels like the datsaniti since I have 245/50-15 hoosier R7 on my shelf at work.

I am glad to see you are coming and bringing a car.

Do not dare sell that RX7 without consulting with me first lol.

I think 15s are doable but tight on the base brakes. Might have to use wheel spacers and or grind the caliper.

For your grille opening, I feel like plastic Gutter Guard should fill in the gap nicely.   Trim to fit and secure with some black zip ties. Is that opening larger than 6 inches tall?

$4 Amazon but pro-rate down to amount used so less than $1

From the Datsun build "

Did you know you can put 15x8 wheels on an Infiniti G35, then put that G35 on your Datsun? And that doing so will net you 20 lbs in total weight savings? Not only that, the Infiniti center cap pops right in.

Front needed 1" spacers to clear the calipers. Still a great deal at $32 for the pair and $10 per wheel. If I FMV the Infiniti wheels, this setup is pretty much Challenge budget neutral. Then I had to grind the caliper jusssst a bit with the flap disc. Also had to unbolt the steering-stop bumper thing."

If you could see a bumper/grille, or radiator fan shroud at the pull a part grab it for me.

Somehow one bolt didn't keep me from destroying the fan shroud.

edit: the filling in of the grill with rain gutter mesh would be great for the parking lot. Trying to source some maxpeeding rod coilovers, giant wing, and nitrous to install in the parking lot. Should still be magically under budget.

edit2: drove the car around my parking lot today for the first time. Will thrash it later when everyone is gone lol.

Time to vote: Mustang wheels are hoosier A6 295/335 or the Jeep wheels with 245/50 R7. Somehow all these setups are still under budget as long as I fmv the stock wheels to myself.

Mustang wheels front

They all clear the inside. We (who is we) would need to add fender flares.

Rear wheels.

Wheels with Mickey Thompson's  they may require some minor trimming.

Found my exhaust leak... lol obviously I need to get my priorities of checking things in line.  The physical body of the car doesn't have "much" rust compared to the rest.

I need to read more about the datsunity build to see what parts I should order. Definitely in a dilemma of how much I want to spend on something that more than likely will end up as scrap.

Go to a cabin in the fall it'll be fun, you won't have to walk your luggage 100 yards to the cabin.

Did you ever put a trailer hitch on your van?

Strap or rope around tree to hitch and pull log out of the way.

Looks to be a beautiful location, otherwise!
