You know, you could probably do that entire Falken livery with just two colors of painter's tape and enough slightly inebriated volunteers.

Painters tape doesn't count in the budget according to the rules, they just assume I planned to take it offs

Time consuming but a genius idea.
Green tape, blue of your choosing since it's pretty much the most common color, maybe some white for making logos, then just have somebody who gives half a crap do the crossover area in the middle where the two colors meet and leave rolls out on the front and back of the car for people to help fill in the rest of the body.
The farther away, like running on track, the definition will be less and the car will look to be more genuine in color.
I read the rule poorly if it's on the car at the event it's in budget.
I'll be there all day Thursday.
Don't know what will happen didn't get my decals in the mail.
Need to run back to work, left my nitrous jets behind doh
How much budget room do you have left?
Tod, Ted and I should be there all day Thursday as well. We can help deface the car in the parking lot.
In reply to pimpm3 (Forum Supporter) :
As much as we need just have to take parts off at fair market value sell them to the dumpster. Realistically around $100 in budget room.
Will we be able to mask over fresh paint? For the second color.
Ill continue to ignore things that might actually help the car run better just to make this theme happen. Check engine light, wonky power steering, transmission fluid leak, old oil... who cares.
I'm making good time I'll stop at Lowe's Home Depot or Walmart and get paint for tomorrow morning
looks like my rusty muffler has not enjoy the trip uh oh
Spectacular!
All the GRM decals will be temporary too.
You should probably try to keep the car (the tape) dry. Any rain in the forecast?
I wonder if you could/should plaster out "FAKEN" instead of "FALKEN" on the rear quarters?
or maybe "BERKELEY"... that's probably too many/much letters, though

Get ahold of Nancy. GRM often brings some items from the GRM store to sell at the event. See if they brought GRM windshield banners like this and place one each side like where the Falken logo would be.
Or, get permission from Tom to alter the placement of the sponsor logos in a lateral fashion across the rear fender. That way, the number panel could be placed like it is on the drift car.
This was the final theme. Ended up losing a door decal on the other side due to not sticking to the tape.
Thank goodness I had the help of Andrew Smith and others or else I probably would have DNF'd after tossing the mechanical fan into the radiator during my first autocross run. Andrew should post the picture if that. Only made 2 drag passes which were very slow for a g35. Didn't even attempt to run the nitrous at that point because one can only take so much. One day I'll come to the challenge with a tested car.
Still was great to see everyone and give them more bad ideas. It's a great event to encourage others to try something so crazy it probably would never work.
