You mean a bicycle?
But it has a clock clock in the dash so I can remember when I started the quarter mile. Actually bidding for an employee who likes old weird cars and currently just rides a motorcycle everyday.
Plan is still in place, not sure if I’m flying or driving yet.
In reply to Andy Neuman :
I really hope my employee actually wants the Mercedes or I might have a 1980 Mercedes 240d. They caved to my $400 bid.
In reply to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :
Totally. And then you don't need to fool around with a trans swap. Just run front and rear transverse engines.
In reply to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :
I should drop the spitfire off at your house with the rest of the budget money for a challenge car.
Working on cleaning the next few weeks, scrapping the rest of the van finally, it’s hard to move without wheels.
I should bring the Mercedes as the ultimate gastropod, nothing would represent a snail better. Just need to see if any of my friends have time to come to participate with it.
Fired right up, super rusty, throttle doesn’t return, smokes, tires are so old I can’t find anything resembling a date code.
Copart killing me with fees again, $55 storage fee. They give me 3 days to pick it up after winning, even though it took 2 to determine I actually won.

Why do you always buy the rustiest vehicle you can find?
In light of the conversation we had in May during may visit, I literally laughed out loud!
Thanks for that.
Paint will clean up nice.
My number 1 entry is Jeremy’s CAM camaro but I’m trying to get one of my friends to come with me and enter this as a second car. I told Pat earlier in the year I wanted to drive one of the oldest cars I could find to the event. At 40 years old that probably is starting to push the envelope for affordability and drive ability. Found some $40 tires for it, the lack of 14’s is surprising.
In reply to Stampie :
The 1980 Mercedes is less rusty than the 2007 express van. I’m going in the right direction. My RX7 0 rust.
In reply to Andy Neuman :
I notice the trend of rusty vehicles run/ran but 0 rust vehicles have no chance of ever running.
