picked up a clean 1 owner 1990 hardtop in red last august with 127k on the clock. I know I know short nose crank, have not had any symptons yet now at 136k. Ever since I saw Stacey David stuff a Keith Black motor into one on Gearz I wanted to do the same, just not with a Ford motor. I am a Mopar guy so I would love to put a Hemi in it, but I am not going to put an iron block and the aluminum hemi block cost 4k, so someday L33 will have to suffice instead. Think I am done with the maintenance piece and ready to make it more fun.

As far as maintenance I have done all of this so far in the past year to help increase the value, practicality, and reliability of the car.

I am considering selling the hard top to finance some mods since I do not use it. I auto crossed it once and found out the 6+ year old all season tires are useless for performance. I purchased a polyurethane bushing kit and still need to install it. I have FM stage 2 track pack suspension, hard dog hardcore roll bar, advanti storm S1 15x8 wrapped with 225/45-15 Toyo R1R all on my wish list. I do not want to waste money on the powertrain or drivetrain of the car because someday I want to swap it all out, just want to improve the handling for now. What are some more must needed mods?

well whatever that depression is in the miata, since the spare sits up top. I wanted to be able to run it with the spare though and still be able to fit long things like chairs in the back so the middle seemed like the best spot. Amp will go over on the left. Wondering if I will need to upgrade the alternator, wiring and battery...

In any sane single sub system, I have never found it necessary to do that.

Dynamat will probably be necessary to control rattle though.
