I have more surface rust on my 2016 Silverado frame than this one.
Fricking Chicago winters.
Fricking rock quarries.

Read that thread plus the new one while I was in the process of buying mine.

Right, and they will be 5 spokes as god intended. Not the six-spoke monstrosities they made for the later Chevy 2wd trucks with the 6 lugs.
Trying to figure out/decide if I want to go square 17x8 or staggered. I've seen a 17x9 on the front but don't see that option in the TT. Could go 17x8 and 17x9.5 but not sure it makes sense to stagger.
Wanted to have some cassettes that I may have driven the truck to but if I was of age in 1992. Decided on Nirvana - Nevermind, STP - Core and Social D - Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell. Three of my favorites from the era. I'll look through my collection for appropriate additions as well and probably hit up the local record store as well.
I have a similar build, that went off the rails from what I intended though. My other grandfather had a blue and white IIRC truck like this. Same. Clean as all get out. When he passed it sat until my uncle got it. Beautiful trucks. For a stint when I was younger I drover a 89 RCSB 4.3 Manual red/black Sierra. Loved it. Good luck!

My dad had an 88 x cab long bed 2wd 4.3 5 speed forever then a 98 x cab 4wd short bed 4.3 5 speed for a long time after that. "Square bodys" before that. Its in my blood. Trying to keep this one on the rails.

That drop rules. Looks severely cool but somehow still usable. Woudn't change a thing.
Congrats on the barn find!
Beautiful truck! I've owned two in that body style, and my parents have had two, as well. Those are the most comfortable seats, ever! My '94 K1500 Silverado has the same interior - love it!

My 96 has the newer interior. Not sure which I prefer but the 92 seat is much softer.
Very nice. Had a 93 2500 2-tone light blue/dark blue ext cab 4x4 GMC plow truck. It was soooo rusty. Sold it after a couple months. I know of a 95 Chevy 1500 ext cab 2wd with a slight front drop that may be available locally soonish. If it becomes available, I am totally getting it. Is owned by an old farmer that I've known for decades. Tan int/ext.
on 10/15/2007 we did a state inspection at the shop, the truck had 75,079 on the odometer. It's gone 831 miles in ~13 years!!
Trying to decide between a square or staggered wheel/tire package. The TTs I want come in 17×8 or 17x9.5. Not sure yet if the 9.5 will fit up front. If they look like they will I'd lean toward 9.5 square. If they don't I'd be trying to decide between staggered or 8 square.
