Hey trent/jumper, any updates on this?
Ugh. No.
I've moved it around a few times. The person I'm doing this for sidetracked me by also having me build a supercharged 1275 for him.
It'll be a few months before I start back in on this
Awe. Been reading up on this fantasizing about doing it to my Bugeye. (Well, doing this to the spare 1275 I have on the shelf)
Don't take my asking as pressure, I got plenty keeping me busy too.
The photos are all dead in this thread!
It is all sitting 18 inches to my left. I need to get off my duff and start again. I believe the block was plugged of all the proper stud and oil passage holes and ready to go to the machine shop for the first decking and to bore it out. That way I can build the short block and calculate the compression ratio and drill/tap the new stud pattern before it gets properly zero decked.
Tim bought a Vmaxscart Eaton SC kit for his street mini which diverted his fun money away from this for a bit. I will see when he is ready to start back in.
I will also try to dump some info on the Vmaxscart kit in here. It is a nightmare. They have a pretty stellar reputation in England but this one was unusable as delivered. Manifold warped like crazy, abysmal welds holding the DCOE to the Eaton case, filled with RTV but still leaking fuel and air like it was a piece of pegboard. Jets crudely drilled by hand so no reference as a starting point for future jetting and zero information on tuning just a "don't exeed 30 degrees total advance" email when pressed for info.
I have been learning to be very leery of aftermarket parts when it comes to my bugeye. I dont know if its just because its british, or if its a cheap british car thing, but some of the stuff just sucks... Hell, even the maintenance parts have required rework to function sometimes.
I probably just got spoiled playing with 90's mustangs and miatas.
