Hi all,

Here is my 2001 GTI that needs quite a bit of work, she's not pretty but she'll be perfect for the job. This car will be a car to learn how to drive on the dirt starting from rallycross events with the ultimate goal to be able to run the Rally Baie-Des-Chaleurs yearly as it is local to me, and who knows, maybe 1 or 2 more in the year, we'll see.

6:00 AM Getting ready for the 6 hour 1 way trip, first time hauling with my recently new-to-me 01' Sequoia

All loaded up, she's not looking too good but the drivetrain is in great shape, in the current used cars market it was a steal, berkeley it.

Finally made it home, eventually it's going to need both fenders, driver's door, hood and bumper...

All things that can wait, nothing that putty can't fix right? I'm on a budget after all and they'll get banged up anyway as I learn.

Took 3 backhoe buckets to throw the interior in the bin, much more stuff than I expected. Don't worry guys, the interior was in even rougher shape, nothing was lost trust me.

Still picking at the deadening material each day, little by little we'll get it I guess. Floor is in great shape, only starting to rust at the plug holes under both seats, nothing major.

I didn't really took pictures of the body repair but i'll add to it after, as i'm writing this first message I have a feeling my pictures are way too big, we'll see.

This is obviously on the cheaper end of things and am open to any opinion, I am not going to put more power into this thing, I don't have a plan other than making it run straight reliabily and drive drive drive.

Did you see this build?

Golf R32 For Sale - New Price $19,000

This car was purchased by me 4 years ago for entry into the Newfoundland Targa.  After that event, it was subject to a engine, suspension and clutch rebuild, totalling over $30k.  Due to health reasons I am no longer able to take part in motorsports so, since the rebuild, it has only seen around 10km shake down on tarmac.  The car is currently in Oakville in Canada and could be shipped in the USA provided the right agreement is reached.  The car is fast, light and tough. I have dropped the price as I don't want it sitting around for another season!

I did, it's a nice machine, i've been searching online for builds, taking notes, trying to soak up as much information as I can.

Here is it's current state, waiting for the color matching paint to arrive.

Looks so much better with the grill in already! I do like Mk4s... Too bad you got one with a sunroof, you're going to have to weld in a panel there for stage rally, right?

Yes, it's pretty easy to do so.

Currently needs inner tie rod and it seems like the throwout bearing is on it's way out, vibration in the pedal and "some" noise that is still faint at this point.
