Hopefully Jack being 9 will be able to hang, Tommy being 6, will likely have a shorter attention span.

A/C bypass pulley, poly front control arm bushings & balljoint boots, and interior plastics - center console, center display/controls surround, HVAC controls(I think), rear hatch trim. I’m probably forgetting some stuff.

Agreed, that would have been a keeper! It was a spectacular 3 days.

In the process of Craigslist trawling and reading these forums, I see C4 Vettes are cheap. Now I may have to read everything I can about the LT1 engine.

Thanks to you, Pete and Steve for the thoughts, concepts, and above all, encouragement.

I need to get the build back on track, life allowing, and at least get the engine fired and broken in.

Being able to occasionally make eye burning exhaust will be a great motivator.

Well guys, time to get this going again...

For those that don't know, my dad passed in November.

He was a car guy.

He owned 4 Austin Healey's, a series 1 XKE (pictured), a 66 Corvette, a Pontiac 2+2, 69 Cutlass, etc.

He is the reason I'm a car guy.

We got his 4th AH in 2006.

I did lots of rehab and conservation on that car over the years to keep it on the road for him as a driver. 

It's mine now.

Some people have asked me what it is worth.

I tell them 'nothing'....

.....we will never sell it.

Now, back to the project at hand.... :)

So, in the interest of moving this project forward, i made this strategic decision:

Well, even though the last post was a bit facetious, the SLK has primed the pump for the Corvette work, I'm hoping to get it out and finish off the MPI setup and fire it up with a stock tune just to see what happens.

Any one have a spare steel building for cheap, LOL? It's getting crowded around here.

I last counted 9 private motor vehicles and one patrol car.

It always looks like a party around here...

I'll probably pick this back up after the 1998 SLK230 Gastropod is farther along.

This started as a concept at the 2017 Challenge and,

was delayed for the 2018 challenge,

waylaid for the 2019 Challenge,

and mislayed for the 2020 challenge.

Well... since the Healey is not an option for an exhibition car (which is VERY understandable and appropriate) and the U42T is not very entertaining.... time to consider what was thought to be impossible....

You know, as I unearth it. I see I had done a LOT in 2017-18. Gonna have to refresh my mind on the budget status and give this some serious thought this weekend. Perfection is the enemy of progress right?

I'm an intake carb and distributor from making the thing run to break in the cam. I should do that right?
