I've been lurking and watching LS1 Kart for a couple of years. While I have a C4 based cart, I've learne a few things from his progress.
I've wanted to build one since Roadkill first did it almost a decade ago. I was terrible about documenting the progress of building the car when I did it a couple of years ago, but I'm working on a motor swap and forcing myself to get better about documenting the process through YouTube. Primary purpose of the car is enjoying the car on nice days and autocross and road coarse work. I'll take any questions, thoughts, or advice on the car.
Here's an intro video:

And my latest video in the build process.

Nice man. Happy to have inspired. I keep meaning to get around to doing a intro/walk around video and just never find the time or motivation, so good on you! Our thoughts are definitely aligned!
I took some time for some other house projects for my wife, but finally got back to working on the car. Test fitting the motor in.

And modifying the wiper motor setup so that I can still pass a safety inspection in the state of Missouri. Need to move this wiper motor so the head on the new LT1 will fit.

I work on the oil accumlator setup and expanding the capacity and effectiveness of that system.

I'm getting so excited! Hopefully I have this car on the road in the next 4 weeks!

Getting things put back together and ready to be put on the ground...now if a bellhousing would just show up....

More steps towards getting this new motor fired up!

Pushing hard to get this engine fired up!

I was hoping to get the car started, but still waiting for parts has me working on the drivetrain....still it's coming together and I'm getting excited!

How is it to drive?? It looks great

I took it autocrossing on Sunday (video coming soon) and it drives WAY better that it did before. The 100 lbs off the nose in going to the aluminum from iron block motor is noticable. The lift oversteer was bad before, but it is noticably improved now. Still there, but much much better. I haven't weighed and corner balanced it yet, hopefully I'll get that done next week. I also need to get on a dyno and get some tuning in to really see what this new motor can do...It's got a safe tune in it for driving, but it could have a lot more in it...my butt dyno isn't calibrated so I have no idea what kind of power I'm at now, other than noticably faster than the 269hp that the old motor dynod at last fall. The new one should be between 500 and 550 capable with my setup and a redline somewhere between 7,200 and 7,500.
At this first event back I was more focused on make sure everything was sound, particularly how the engine was running, than putting down the best time. I had a blast and I'm going to enjoy driving this much harder at the next event. I need to get this car to a dyno for some tuning because I'm pretty sure everything on the motor is extremely safe and conservative and there is probably a good deal more power to be had.

Finally got the kart out on the road coarse after the engine swap. It was a blast!
