This build has been going for awhile and is actually almost done but wanted to put together a build thread.

I should have taken some pictures before it was painted...it was tiaga (2002 color).

Went back to Lach

All torn apart, VERY clean on the underside

Reinforced front sub frame steering box mount.

Then sent out for powder coat...love a big pile of freshly coated parts

Parts ready to go out to power coat.

Cleaning up the engine bay

Painted wheel wells and all new suspension. H&R sports and billys. <img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-NMhxz6TrtZI/VOCgIeyUP9I/AAAAAAAASxk/rCfZydqMnps/s640-Ic42/IMG_3204.JPG/img]

New firewall insulation https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-AT0RV-9mHRM/VOCgJ8hJMeI/AAAAAAAASxs/YByZ-TDo2GM/s640-Ic42/IMG_3205.JPG" alt="" />

Completely rebuilt rear subframe and 3.25LSD

Got some e34 535 rear brakes....repowder coated.

And some massive front brembos

The plan was to put a used LS1 into it after installing a cam but we found that the first cam lobe and lifter was toast. Also bearings were pretty well gone.

So...engine came all apart, new pistons, rings, bearings, all seals, 243 LS6 heads, and 228R cam, LS7 lifters

LS6 intake

belt drive all installed

Remote bleeder and new slave intalled on t56

Modified 98 fbody manifolds Painted with VHT flame Proof paint

In it goes

Exhaust coming together, 2.5" off manifolds, magnaflow cats, spintech muffler, into magnaflow muffler. Will have a dual out tip (no pic yet)

AC condenser, radiator etc, going in.

More coming soon...
Engine is all wired, fuel system is done, front and rear bumpers are back on, heater hoses all done, VERY close to running and driving.

Just curious what the going rate is for one of your conversions... They look top notch.

Nice work! Couple questions:

1) Do you just degrease the engine bay, or do you strip the paint and repaint it completely?

2) Did you need to modify the front subframe? Did you have to do anything funky with the oil pan?

Thanks! Prices range all over the place. Average is around 10k but some are less and some are more just depends on the build.

This was just cleaned. Paint in the bay is original. Nope nothing at all done to the subframe or oil pan.

Just read the latest post on your M42 into the 2002. Any chance you can finish this build thread? A V8-swap E28 is high on my priority list...
